Excerpt:
7.485*10^27 atoms, 53 liters of water, and 10 billion neurons, make up the simply complex life form I occupy in this universe. It’s 27 years old with a birthday of October 21st 1981. I grew up in the mountains of Southern Oregon playing and working outside with my family. We spent every summer working with the forestry department collecting native plant seeds and pine cones for reforestation projects. This gave me an oppertunity to enjoy the great outdoors almost non-stop from birth until I finally went to public school in 9th Grade. We traveled extensively as a kid, spending summers throught the pacific northwest, some of mexico, baja, and other road trippable areas.
I struggled through high school working hard to learn the writing I missed out on homeschooling, but breezed through the math and science. During highschool I went to Costa Rica as an exchange student and then again to Central America with my family, and Cuba as an ambassidor. I went to Oregon Institute of Technology and studied Laser Optical Engineering Technology in a tough, yet fascinating field. During college I cultivated my love of the outdoors through exploration of the Eastern Oregon Region, working at the Outdoor program during the school year, and continuing to work with my family during the summers, or in technical internships. I traveled again to Costa Rica, spent a month in Maui with my family, and a month in Ireland, as well as many other short travel foreys into the wild.
I finished high school in 2000 and college in 2004 at which point I took an exciting position in Boulder, Colorado working as an optical engineer for Ball Aerospace.
I’ve been here ever since continuing to travel, and pursuing my love of science, adventure, sports, friendship, and life.
