Bumping around the land of my childhood with two of my best friends over the last week and a half was amazing! We spent the 4th of July in Ashland, which is always a good time. I went to my 10 year high school reunion, which actually deserves its own post for all the awesomeness it was! Last Thursday, after months of contemplation, research and thought (actually years if you go back to the beginning), I received my new camera in the mail. A Nikon D5000 DSLR with an 18-55mm VR lens and a 70-200mm VR lens. This weekend I got to play with it a bit, and am starting to learn how to use some of the settings.

Today finds me sitting at home in Boulder Colorado watching the rain fall and freeze in a surprisingly swift partnership of grace and poise: each drop pausing in time when it touches earth, car, or grass. Yes, I’m back in western world, and as I slip back into some of my old habits, my mind reflects on its journeys over the winter.

Here it is 1:30am and I can’t sleep! I really should because I’m leaving for the airport in just under 2 hours, but I’m too excited, and really, what good is 2 hours of sleep when the world is waiting to be explored.
