Buried Blackness: Titan 1 Missile Silo Ninja UE Mission

Blackness. 
Blackness so complete it is impossible to tell if it is white or black or blue or green or purple.  Not one photon makes its way to my eye, and my brain screams with lack of optical information.
I make a clicking noise with my tongue and can surmise by the echo we are in a large space; how large it’s hard to tell, but definitely expansive and open.  I can hear the scratching of shoes on metal to my left some distance away.  Something else rustles to my right. It’s …

Stepping through the door with my new camera

Last Thursday, after months of contemplation, research and thought (actually years if you go back to the beginning), I received my new camera in the mail.  A Nikon D5000 DSLR with an 18-55mm VR lens and a 70-200mm VR lens.  This weekend I got to play with it a bit, and am starting to learn how to use some of the settings.
Here’s a couple shots that speak to me.
